The attractive 2022 Nissan Sentra is a contender in the tiny car market, but it lacks driving vigour. Anyone looking for some thrills while driving should look elsewhere.

A sportier suspension and 18-inch wheels are available on the SR variant, although they more negatively impact the ride than positively impact the driving experience.

The Sentra lineup gains a few additional option packages for 2022. The All-Weather kit, which adds heated components to the steering wheel, front seats, and external mirrors, is now available for the SV model.

The Midnight Edition option, which includes distinctive interior finishes and black exterior accents, is now available with the SR trim.

A 2.0-liter four-cylinder engine with 149 horsepower is standard on every Sentra, and it is mated to a CVT and front-wheel drive.

The Nissan has separate rear suspension and 16 to 18-inch wheels as standard equipment. The model we drove had the biggest set of wheels, which made for a rough ride and a lot of road noise.

Up to 29 mpg in the city and 39 mpg on the highway are the Sentra's projected fuel economy ratings. On the sportier SR version, those numbers fall to 28 mpg city and 37 mpg highway.

The Toyota XSE sedan we tested, meanwhile, only got 41 mpg. Visit teh Government website for additional details regarding the Sentra's fuel efficiency.

The Sentra boasts one of this market's most beautiful interiors. On all models save the basic model, the driver is faced with a set of simple analogue gauges sandwiching a 7.0-inch LCD.

Soft and hard plastics are mixed in the interior materials, but the latter cover the important surfaces and conceal the others.

Even though the quilted leather interior contrasts with the sporty car's flat bottom steering wheel, these models seem very premium.

Adults have plenty of room in the front and rear, however the headroom in the interior is reduced if the optional sunroof is chosen.

Every Sentra's dashboard features a touchscreen that is surrounded by real volume and tuning dials. While the basic model has an Android Auto and Apple CarPlay-compatible 7.0-inch touchscreen
