The 2022 Toyota 4Runner is one of the last mid-size SUVs that still lives up to its reputation for toughness despite being the segment's older gentleman.

With a variety of standard driver assistance features, including as adaptive cruise control and lane-keeping assistance, Toyota makes up for the popular off-advanced roader's age.

A new TRD Sport model for the 4Runner family will debut in 2022. Previously, this model was only available on the Toyota Tacoma, the 4Runner's pickup truck rival.

Despite what its 20-inch wheels, hood scoop, and Sport emblems suggest, the Toyota 4Runner TRD Sport isn't particularly athletic.

But unlike the majority of other models—with the exception of the more opulent Limited—it has adaptive dampers that are intended to enhance body control.

The Toyota 4runner TRD Off-Road receives equipment that helps live up to its moniker in addition to basic four-wheel drive and a few TRD-specific exterior and interior components.

Toyota 4runner Engine A 4.0-liter V-6 engine with 270 horsepower and a five-speed automatic transmission power every 4Runner.

The outmoded powertrain offers unimpressive acceleration, with the most recent version needing 7.7 seconds to reach 60 mph. It is available with rear-wheel drive and either full- or part-time four-wheel-drive systems.

Toyota 4unner towing capacity Its 5000-pound capacity surpasses that of the Ford Edge and Jeep Wrangler, although it is less than the 8700-pound capacity of the more potent Durango.

The fuel economy of the Toyota 4Runner's powertrain combinations is dated, with each model getting only 16 mpg in the city and 19 mpg on the highway.

The Toyota 4Runner's interior is not quite state-of-the-art, with switchgear that appears to date from the final years of the previous millennium.

Despite its back of the class interior dimensions and subpar materials and aesthetics, Toyota 4runner fits people front and back in comfort.
